COMMANDER 5 CORPS VISITS DHA HEAD OFFICE

Karachi, 17 March 2017: Commander 5 Corps and President Executive Board DHA Lt Gen Shahid Baig Mirza visited Defence Housing Authority Karachi. On his arrival to DHA Head Office the Corps Commander was received by Administrator DHA Brig Shahid Hassan Ali. The Commander met the DHA officials and also visited various important setups in the Head Office.

The setups visited by Commander included Central Control Cell, CCTV Control Room and a new Conference Room equipped with modern facilities. Corps Commander was briefed about the working, efficacy and functioning of these setups. The Commander appreciated the dynamic initiatives of DHA and asked the management and staff of the Housing Authority to continue their sustained and dedicated efforts for achieving even higher standards of professional excellence.

Commander also had an exclusive meeting with Administrator in which various matters pertaining to DHA’s policies, priorities and futuristic plans were discussed. He gave strategic directions to DHA for further enhancing the efficacy, efficiency and reputation of the organization. Corps Commander directed DHA to ensure a resident-responsive approach in all their undertakings and to establish enhanced communication/interaction with residents for achieving the goals of healthy, vibrant and efficient civic life.

Corps Commander later visited DHA Phase-VIII, the largest phase of DHA, which is being developed as a model and vibrant phase showcasing the progressive image of the Housing Authority. Commander went to various development projects’ sites where he was briefed about the planning parameters and details of these projects. The projects visited included a new Sewerage Treatment Plant (STP) in Phase-VIII and the new Phase-VIII Directorate Building being constructed at Seaview.

At the end of the visit the Commander met DHA officers at Defence Authority Country and Golf Club and had an informal interaction with them. He appreciated the high professional standards achieved by the Housing Authority and asked the officers and staff of the organization to continue working hard to maintain the status of DHA as a trendsetter in the field of housing and development in the country.
